Eagle is a local asset management software where all asset libraries need to be completely stored on the local hard drive. When you need to use existing asset libraries on a new computer, proper migration procedures are required.

Important Information Before Library Migration

Eagle does not have cloud sync functionality, asset libraries are stored entirely locally
Product serial numbers are only used for software activation and are unrelated to library content
Before migration, you need to backup the asset libraries on your old device first

- Compress asset libraries into zip format folders, ensuring all hierarchical files are completely scanned
- Use copy and paste method for backup to prevent data transfer interruption
- After migrating libraries to the new device, confirm everything is correct before deleting libraries from the old device

- Improve Hardware Performance: Using SSD drives instead of HDD drives can significantly improve read/write speeds
- Adjust Compression Settings: Select "Store" compression level when packing (package only without compression) can save considerable time

Setting Up Eagle on New Computer

Download and install Eagle software on the new device
Activate the software after installation (product serial number can be used on multiple devices without limit)
Select your asset library folder through the software menu "Library" > "Open Other Library…"
Wait for the software to read and load all content
